Remember the games you used to play at a 6th grade sleepover? A particular favorite for my friends and me was “Which Would You Rather?” Usually, someone would have to pick between two uncomfortable situations (“Would you rather swim in slime or eat 10 flies?”) or choose between people (“Would you rather sleep with JC Chasez or Nick Lachey?”). Note: for the 2nd example to make sense, you need to remember that it was 1996 at the time.
Recently, as I was walking toward Union Square, I heard someone start a far less frivolous version of this pastime. One friend asked another, “Would you rather be blind or deaf?” Intriguing question.
